For every person who thinks that dry cat food is the way to go, you’ll find a person who swears by canned (or wet) cat food. And vice versa, of course. The debate has been raging for years on which type and texture is best for your cat. Read More
Owning a cat can certainly be one of life’s most pleasurable experiences. Anyone who has ever had a warm kitty snuggled up in their lap on a cold night can tell you that. Without cats, our lives would be less enjoyable. True, their natural instincts can sometimes cause them to get into trouble, like that time when Kitty jumped up on the counter and had a taste of the meat platter you left out. But their foibles are well worth the love they give. Read More
Cats can be curious creatures. After all, the old saying about curiosity didn’t come out of the blue. If you’ve ever seen a hesitant paw come out and poke and something they know nothing about in order to investigate properly, you’ve seen it in action. Unfortunately, cats also have a way of chewing on things to get an idea on what the item is all about; chomp chomp here, chomp chomp there; gulp! Oops! And suddenly, the item finds its way into kitty’s gullet. Read More

When you think about the eating habits of dogs, it seems like they’d chow down on anything and everything that comes their way. The scent of any food wafting through the air makes them sniff and drool like a dog you’d see in an old Bugs Bunny cartoon. The Pixiebob might not be the most common breed of cat, but it certainly is worth taking the time to get to know. The Pixiebob is medium-to-large in build and can weigh up to 17lbs! This large size makes her look like a wild-child with her brown spotted bobcat-slash-tabby pattern, mascara-eyed markings and stumpy tail (anywhere from 2-6 inches in length). Plus, many Pixiebobs are polydactyl, meaning they can have more than the usual number of toes. If this is enough to entice you into finding a Pixiebob breeder, we don’t know what else is! Read More
The Manx is a wonderful and somewhat unusual cat. The first thing that you will notice on most purebred Manx cats is their lack of a tail; mostly. Manx cats come with 4 different tail varieties. Rumpys are completely tailless and are very popular on the cat show circuit; rumpy risers have three vertebrae at the end of their spine; stumpys have up to five vertebrae at the end of the spine and can swing the stub around; and longys have a tail that is longer than 5 vertebrae but still shorter than an average cat’s tail. The Manx is the only breed that is specifically bred to have these rumpy, stumpy tails and it seems to suit them. Read More
